StarQuest Dance Competition
The Experience is the Real Award.
Meet Autumn Peltier, a young changemaker who is advocating for clean and safe drinking water in Indigenous communities.
From a young age, Autumn became aware that many First Nations communities did not have access to safe water, something many people often take for granted.
Inspired to make a difference, Autumn began speaking out about water protection and the importance of respecting natural resources. By the age of 12, she was already addressing national leaders, and she has since spoken on global stages to raise awareness about water rights and environmental responsibility.
Autumn’s work shows how using your voice can create meaningful change. Through her leadership and advocacy, she continues to inspire others to stand up for what matters and protect resources that are essential to all communities.

Professional Growth Insight: Communicate Effectively
We encourage you to develop strong communication skills as you grow in the performing arts. Clear, thoughtful communication helps build trust with directors, instructors, and fellow performers, creating a more collaborative and supportive environment.
Effective communication is more than speaking clearly. It includes active listening, asking clarifying questions, awareness of body language, and the ability to respond with intention. These skills allow artists to better understand direction, adapt in rehearsals, and contribute meaningfully to the creative process.
Training in the performing arts shows that communication skills can also be developed through practices like acting, improvisation, and voice work. These experiences help artists build confidence, express themselves authentically, and navigate both creative and professional interactions with greater ease. Over time, strong communication becomes an essential foundation for collaboration, professionalism, and long-term growth.
